The Daniel Readshaw Football Tournament takes place each year in memory of a former St Charles pupil who left the school in 1992 and passed away in 2003. The event has been held annually ever since.

This year, 100 Key Stage 2 pupils took part. Split into 10 teams, our staff became team managers while our Year 6 pupils took on the role of team captains.

It was a fantastic morning filled with determination, teamwork, resilience and enjoyment. Thank you to all our staff for managing the teams and organising the event, and to Mr Mann and Mr Dailey for refereeing the group stages.

After a close contest, Switzerland progressed from Group 1 and Spain advanced from Group 2 on goal difference.

In a tense final, Spain emerged as the tournament winners. Congratulations to Mr Dailey and his team on their success.

Miss Robinson was incredibly proud of Switzerland, who never gave up and challenged Spain throughout the final stages of the match.

The tournament was a fitting tribute and a wonderful celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship and community spirit.
